This volume fully updates and expands the 1993 edition and gives an account of the new facilities, policies, and programs used since then to counter the various international problems including the Mexican and Asian crises, the debt problems of the poorer countries, and the transformation of the communist countries to market-based economies. To this end, this edition includes entries outlining IMF-supported programs in 16 member countries.
