Levi dropped me back at my house where I took a long shower and tried to get my head around this whole lifebond thing. I hadn't told anyone who my mother was. It had pained me to admit that I had warrior magic even. Ryan knew, but we'd known each other for years and he'd guessed rather than my just telling him. Levi was different though. As my lifebond I couldn't really keep big secrets from him.
I hated the lack of control. Levi himself wasn't such a bad guy. Arrogant, but he could hold his own in a fight and he certainly wasn't bad to look at. The little butterflies that formed when he laughed or gave me one of those smiles were something I was going to need time to adjust to, but they weren't painful or unpleasant. Just unwanted.
Levi had said he was spending the afternoon with his friend Daire and wrapping up the paperwork from the coyotes. I'd given him his share of the cash Lady Aveni had given us.
