Azure Cosmos DB is a globally distributed NoSQL database, designed to build highly scalable and available web and mobile applications without worrying about managing your schemas and indexes. True to its name, Cosmos DB is what Microsoft Azure deems a 'planet-scale' database, with the ability to scale elastically across Azure regions. It offers five different interaction modes or APIs including key value, document, graph and column.
