BBE Music revisits Gabriele Poso's well recieved 2018 solo album 'Awakening', with brand new remixes from Opolopo, Seven Davis Jr, DJ Crab and Clap! Clap!.
Reworking Poso's sumptuous cover of the Roy Ayers classic 'Everybody Loves The Sunshine', Swedish powerhouse Opolopo, transforms the track into a disco/funk behemoth, complete with distinctive synth licks and a bass-line so suggestive that it borders on scandalous. The multi-talented Seven Davis Jr give 'Mi Amigo' an energetic treatment which ramps up the tempo and places Poso's intricate and frenetic drumming at centre stage.
DJ Crab turns in a sensitive, smooth and somewhat mournful deep house version of 'Words Never Work'; a suitable soundtrack for sunset reverie.
Italian producer (and Paul Simon collaborator) Clap! Clap! embraces Gabriele Poso's afro-latin percussion to the max, transforming 'The Night Falls' into a delightful sub-bass driven workout for the dancers.
Finally, Seven Davis Jr returns with an alternate take on 'Everybody Loves The Sunshine', laying down a solid house groove, whilst staying true to Gabriele Poso's sweet and subtle arrangement.
