Independence Versus Conformity is a look back at the research of Solomon E Asch. At the time his work would be a successful attempt at supporting the earliest research pertaining to social psychology, the scientific study of how behavior can be affected by social surroundings. This research as it would turn would support the notion individual opinion could be easily altered the result of the opinions of one's social surrounding. Asch would take more of a hands-on approach within his demonstration as compared to the work of Bernheim, as an example. Asch's 1955 study would act as a middle ground, bridging the earliest studies of the beginning of the 20th century to the present day findings of a more modern social psychology. The research in creation of this report would act as a follow-up to the 1955 study, in a creative means of putting the author himself in an evaluatory position within the actual experiment.
