Thesaurus Cultus et Rituum Antiquorum: Cult Places, Representations of Cult Places; Volume IV By Bertrand Jaeger (editor)
2006 | 508 Pages | ISBN: 0892367911 | PDF | 53 MB
Thesaurus Cultus et Rituum Antiquorum (ThesCRA) is a major multivolume reference work on all known aspects of Greek, Etruscan, and Roman cults and rituals. Providing both sweeping overview and in-depth investigation, ThesCRA covers the period from Homeric times (1000 B.C.) to late Roman times (A.D. 400). The first three volumes, published in 2005, deal with dynamic elements of cult: divination; prayer, gestures, and acts of prayer; gestures and acts of veneration; oaths; maledictions; profanation; magic; and consecration and foundation rites. The last two volumes in the set move on to static elements of cult--cult places and their depictions in antiquity in volume IV, and the personnel of cults in volume V. The major contributors to volume IV are Anneliese Kossatz-Deissmann, Francesco Marcattili, Ulrich Sinn, and Mario Torelli; those for volume V are Stella Georgoudi, Tonio Hölscher, Ingrid Krauskopf, Vinciane Pirenne-Delforge, and John Scheid. The index for the five-volume set will be published in August 2006. ThesCRA was developed by the eminent group of scholars who published the eight double-volumes of LIMC (Lexicon Iconographicum Mythologiae Classicae).

Theories of Human Learning Mrs Gribbin's Cat
Theories of Human Learning: Mrs Gribbin's Cat By Guy R. Lefrançois
2019 | 566 Pages | ISBN: 1108484638 | EPUB | 7 MB
Both a serious academic text and an intriguing story, this seventh edition reflects a significant update in research, theory, and applications in all areas. It presents a comprehensive view of the historical development of learning theories from behaviorist through to cognitive models. The chapters also cover memory, motivation, social learning, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The author's highly entertaining style clarifies concepts, emphasizes practical applications, and presents a thought-provoking, narrator-based commentary. The stage is given to Mrs Gribbin and her swashbuckling cat, who both lighten things up and supply much-needed detail. These two help to explore the importance of technology for simulating human cognitive processes and engage with current models of memory. They investigate developments in, and applications of, brain-based research and plunge into models in motivation theory, to name but a few of the adventures they embark upon in this textbook.

The Thought of Mou Zongsan
The Thought of Mou Zongsan By N. Serina Chan
2011 | 342 Pages | ISBN: 9004212116 | PDF | 3 MB
Mou Zongsan (1909-1995) was the theoretical genius behind New Confucianism, a philosophical and cultural movement marking the revival of Ruxue in Asia and Northern America since the late 1970s. This book is the first thorough study in English of Mou s multi-faceted and complex system. It examines the key influences of Xiong Shili (1885-1968), G. W. F. Hegel (1770-1831), and Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) on the Chinese thinker and presents his thought as a contemporary moral metaphysical recasting of the Lu-Wang Learning of the Mind using Mah y na Fo paradigms and Kantian terminology. The study also reveals the strong Han cultural nationalism entwined with Mou s philosophical system and looks at how his thought has been received."
