Snappy Driver Installer is a program for searching the database, installing and updating drivers from driverpacks. The program, which can be downloaded for free on cwer.ru, uses the most current driverpacks made from SamLab for all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows operating systems, from Windows 2000 to Windows 8.1, including server platforms.

The main features of Snappy Driver Installer:
Programming language: C / C ++.
The most perfect algorithm for selecting drivers among analogs.
The program weighs less than a megabyte (without driver packs) and does not require any third-party programs.
High performance with indexing, driver search, installation.
Support for working with unpacked drivers.
Creation of system snapshots that allow you to emulate someone else's system on another PC.
Warnings about possible attempts of viruses to infect a flash drive with the program.

This version is based on SamDrivers with the following features:
Removed all third-party software (soft folder).
Removed alternative programs for installing drivers.
BadPointer (developer of Snappy Driver Installer) used to work on DriverPack Solution (DPS), so he knows the capabilities of DPS well, as well as its limitations. DPS is written in jаvascript, which works very slowly and contains many restrictions. Since DPS should work even under outdated IE 6.0, it is not allowed to use new efficient designs of the newest browsers to avoid the appearance of various script errors when the program is launched on older IE.

It should be noted that all the current code for the selection and installation in DPS was written by BadPointer, and since he stopped working on DPS, no one was doing any further work on DPS, since those who remained in DPS did not have sufficient understanding of the code and accordingly could not fix it. Therefore, over the past year, DPS changes have mainly affected the interface and the body kit with additional software, and the chronic problems of DPS (like the installation of Intel USB 3.0, desktop clock taps, sound driver selection) remained unresolved all this time and now are unlikely to ever be corrected .

Snappy Driver Installer was originally developed by BadPointer alone as rewriting DPS from scratch in C / C ++. But as a result, it was decided to promote it regardless of DPS and under a different name. In Snappy Driver Installer already fixed those problems with the selection of drivers, the full C / C ++ programming language allows to achieve an order of magnitude higher performance and stability due to the absence of any dependencies like IE. Snappy Driver Installer produces a better selection of drivers due to the consideration of much more characteristics of drivers and devices and the ranking of drivers in terms of compatibility, while DPS was able to discard the driver ahead of schedule and could not compare drivers from different driver packs.

SDI - Has no external dependencies and works even in Windows PE. Does not leave traces in the system.

Driver Installation Method
DPS - devcon.exe. Identical to the installation through Device Manager.
DIA - DPInst.exe. Itself decides which drivers to update and can refuse to install a suitable driver. It copies files itself, which sometimes results in incomplete installation.
SDI - Win32API. Identical to the installation through Device Manager. Automatically presses "continue" when installing unsigned drivers.
Driver Ranking
DPS - For each device, only one driver is selected. The rest are eliminated at an early stage and not even mentioned in the logs.
DIA - Generates a general list of suitable drivers within the driverpack. Ranking of drivers from different driver packs is not performed.
SDI - For each device, a list of found drivers for all driver packs is created. The list is sorted, so the most suitable drivers go closer to the top of the list, and the first driver is just offered to the default installation.
Download drivers from the Internet
DPS - The configurator allows you to select which driverpacks you want to upload. Update driverpakov and determine the need for an update is not provided.
DIA - None.
SDI - It is possible to update the program and driverpacks (old ones are replaced with new ones). If you load indexes, you can determine which driverpacks contain the updated drivers and upload only them.
